About the icebreaker question wheel

A spin gives you one question to put to the room. The wheel starts with all 84, and “Choose a list” narrows it to one group: favorites, this or that, memories, what if, your week, or skills and hobbies.

None of the questions asks about family, health, money, religion, politics, looks or dating. The full set is on the page under the group names, so the person running the class, meeting or club can read it first and delete anything that does not fit the room.

“This or that” is the quick group. Each of its 14 questions offers two options, so a person can answer with a single word. For longer answers, switch to “Memories” or “What if”.

Ways to run an icebreaker wheel

  • First day of class: each student spins once and answers before the next one goes.
  • Weekly team meeting: one spin, and everyone answers the same question in a sentence.
  • Club night with new members: turn on “Remove the winner after each spin” so no question is asked twice.
  • Pairs: spin one question, let partners trade answers, then spin again.

How to use the wheel

  1. Type or paste your options, one per line. The wheel redraws as you type.
  2. Press Spin, click the wheel, or press Ctrl+Enter while you are in the list.
  3. Read the pick. Remove it from the wheel if nobody should be picked twice, then spin again.

How the pick is made

Before the wheel moves, your browser draws one slice at random with crypto.getRandomValues, the same generator browsers use for security keys. Every slice has the same chance. The spin you watch only plays that result out.

Nothing about the animation changes the outcome: not how hard you click, not how long the wheel turns, not the size of your screen. The pointer always stops inside a slice, never on a line.

Your list stays in your browser. A link you copy carries the list inside the link itself, so nothing is uploaded.

Questions about the icebreaker question wheel

Can I add questions about my own class or team?
Yes. Write each one as a new line in the list. The page keeps your version in this browser, so it is there for the next meeting.
Can the wheel also choose who answers?
Not this one, because it holds questions. Keep the Name Wheel from this site open in a second tab and spin it for a person first.
Where do the questions come from?
Each one was written for this site. The set was not borrowed from a book, an app, a game or another website.
Where do I read the full question after a spin?
In the result window that opens when the wheel stops. It shows the picked question together with “Spin again”, “Remove from wheel” and “Close”.
Can someone skip a question?
Yes. Press “Spin again” for another question, or “Remove from wheel” if nobody should get that one today.
