About the Smash character wheel
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is a fighting game by Nintendo. This wheel holds its 89 fighters in two groups: 76 that come with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate itself and 13 added to it later as downloadable fighters (DLC). Both groups load together when the page opens, a 1 in 89 chance each (1.12%), and with fewer than 150 entries every name shows on its slice.
The names come from the Wikipedia list of Super Smash Bros. series characters. Every fighter that list gives its own line is one entry here. That is why the three Mii Fighters each have a slice, and so do the three Pokémon of the Pokémon Trainer.
If you do not own the downloadable fighters, press “Base game” before the first spin, and only the 76 base game fighters stay on the wheel. For a group where everyone plays someone different, also switch on “Remove the winner after each spin”, so a fighter leaves the wheel once it comes up.
Smash Bros character wheel challenges
- Locked-in picks: each player spins once before the match, and nobody may change fighters.
- Bracket draw: with the winner removed, spin once per entrant so every spot in a friends’ tournament gets a different fighter.
- DLC night: load “DLC”, switch on removal, and play through those fighters in the order the wheel gives them.
- Sketch break: spin a fighter and draw them in under five minutes.
How to use the wheel
- Type or paste your options, one per line. The wheel redraws as you type.
- Press Spin, click the wheel, or press Ctrl+Enter while you are in the list.
- Read the pick. Remove it from the wheel if nobody should be picked twice, then spin again.
How the pick is made
Before the wheel moves, your browser draws one slice at random with crypto.getRandomValues, the same generator browsers use for security keys. Every slice has the same chance. The spin you watch only plays that result out.
Nothing about the animation changes the outcome: not how hard you click, not how long the wheel turns, not the size of your screen. The pointer always stops inside a slice, never on a line.
Your list stays in your browser. A link you copy carries the list inside the link itself, so nothing is uploaded.
Questions about the Smash character wheel
- Is this wheel made by Nintendo?
- No. Nintendo and Super Smash Bros. have no link to this site, and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by Nintendo. The fighter names are here only as text to pick from.
- What is the chance of each fighter?
- With both groups loaded it is 1 in 89 (1.12%). Load “DLC” and each of its 13 fighters has a 1 in 13 chance (7.69%).
- Can I take off fighters I never want to play?
- Yes. Remove those names from the list box, one line each, and their slices disappear. Your edited list stays in this browser, so those fighters are still gone on your next visit.
- Can I share this wheel with my friends?
- Yes. “Copy link to this wheel” puts the whole list inside a link you can paste into a chat. Whoever opens it sees the same wheel, so fighters you deleted stay off it.
