About the LoL champion wheel

The wheel holds the 173 champions found in the game’s own data files, which Riot Games publishes for developers. They are grouped by class: 50 Fighters, 24 Tanks, 35 Mages, 17 Assassins, 29 Marksmen and 18 Supports. With every class loaded, each champion has a 1 in 173 chance, or 0.578%.

The classes come from the tags each champion carries in that data. Many champions carry a second tag as well, and the wheel files each one under its first tag only. A class tag is not a lane or a position in a match.

For a draft where nobody repeats, switch on “Remove the winner after each spin”. A champion that has come up then leaves the wheel, so each player in the group gets a different one. Load one class first if everybody should draw from the same class.

Ways to use a random champion

  • Spin for the champion you play in your next match.
  • Start a random-pick challenge with friends where everyone plays what the wheel gives them.
  • Load “Mages” or another single class for a surprise inside a class you already play.
  • Pick a champion to draw when you want a fan art subject.

How to use the wheel

  1. Type or paste your options, one per line. The wheel redraws as you type.
  2. Press Spin, click the wheel, or press Ctrl+Enter while you are in the list.
  3. Read the pick. Remove it from the wheel if nobody should be picked twice, then spin again.

How the pick is made

Before the wheel moves, your browser draws one slice at random with crypto.getRandomValues, the same generator browsers use for security keys. Every slice has the same chance. The spin you watch only plays that result out.

Nothing about the animation changes the outcome: not how hard you click, not how long the wheel turns, not the size of your screen. The pointer always stops inside a slice, never on a line.

Your list stays in your browser. A link you copy carries the list inside the link itself, so nothing is uploaded.

Questions about the LoL champion wheel

Is the newest champion on the wheel?
Only if it was in version 16.20.1 of the game data, which this list is a snapshot of. A champion released later is not on the wheel until the page is updated. You can add a new champion yourself by typing its name on a new line.
Can I spin for a champion in my lane?
Not with the lists on this page, because the wheel does not know lanes. Type the champions you play in that lane, one per line, and spin your own list.
Why are there no names on the slices?
With all 173 champions loaded there are more than 150 entries, so the labels are hidden and the result window shows the name. Each class list is short enough for the names to show.
Is this site connected to Riot Games?
No. This site is not connected to Riot Games or to League of Legends, and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by them. The champion names are listed only so the wheel can pick one.
