About the zodiac sign wheel
This zodiac wheel spinner holds the 12 signs of the Western zodiac, from Aries to Pisces. Under “Choose a list” you can narrow it to one of the 4 traditional elements, with 3 signs in each: “Fire signs”, “Earth signs”, “Air signs” or “Water signs”. Pick an element when a story, a game or a drawing needs a sign of one kind only.
The wheel picks a sign at random. It does not ask for a birthday, and it does not know anyone’s sign. Use it when any sign will do: for a character you are inventing, a quiz question or a round of a party game.
To give each character in a story a different sign, use the “Remove the winner after each spin” checkbox. A sign then leaves the wheel once it has been picked, so 12 spins hand out all 12 signs with no repeats. Leave the box empty when two characters may share a sign.
What a random zodiac sign is good for
- Filling in the sign on a character sheet for a story, a comic or a role-play.
- A drawing prompt: spin a sign and design a costume or a creature for it.
- A quiz: spin a sign and ask the room which element it belongs to.
- A party game: spin a sign, and the first player to name another sign of the same element scores.
How to use the wheel
- Type or paste your options, one per line. The wheel redraws as you type.
- Press Spin, click the wheel, or press Ctrl+Enter while you are in the list.
- Read the pick. Remove it from the wheel if nobody should be picked twice, then spin again.
How the pick is made
Before the wheel moves, your browser draws one slice at random with crypto.getRandomValues, the same generator browsers use for security keys. Every slice has the same chance. The spin you watch only plays that result out.
Nothing about the animation changes the outcome: not how hard you click, not how long the wheel turns, not the size of your screen. The pointer always stops inside a slice, never on a line.
Your list stays in your browser. A link you copy carries the list inside the link itself, so nothing is uploaded.

- It is 1 in 12, or 8.33%, with all the signs on the wheel. Inside a single element it is 1 in 3, or 33.3%.
