About the challenge wheel
This random challenge generator opens with all 70 challenges on the wheel. Under “Choose a list” you can narrow it to one of 5 groups: “Body” for balance and movement, “Brain” for words and numbers, “Creative” for drawing and inventing, “Speed” for racing the clock and “Teamwork” for partners and groups.
Every challenge can be done on the spot, in under two minutes, with nothing but what is in an ordinary room. Some call for paper and a pencil, a book or a wall, and most need only the players. Examples: “Balance on one foot for 30 seconds”, “Count down from 30 by threes” and “Draw a cat with your eyes closed”.
Match the group to the moment. “Brain” challenges can be done sitting down, “Body” is for when everyone can get up and move, and “Teamwork” only works with two or more players. Playing alone, pick any group except “Teamwork”.
Ways to use the challenge spinner
- Classroom break: spin once and have the whole class try the same challenge.
- Party game: take turns spinning and keep score on paper, one point for each challenge completed.
- Waiting in line: choose “Brain” and trade challenges that need no space and no supplies.
- Family night: one person spins a “Speed” challenge while another watches the clock.
How to use the wheel
- Type or paste your options, one per line. The wheel redraws as you type.
- Press Spin, click the wheel, or press Ctrl+Enter while you are in the list.
- Read the pick. Remove it from the wheel if nobody should be picked twice, then spin again.
How the pick is made
Before the wheel moves, your browser draws one slice at random with crypto.getRandomValues, the same generator browsers use for security keys. Every slice has the same chance. The spin you watch only plays that result out.
Nothing about the animation changes the outcome: not how hard you click, not how long the wheel turns, not the size of your screen. The pointer always stops inside a slice, never on a line.
Your list stays in your browser. A link you copy carries the list inside the link itself, so nothing is uploaded.
Questions about the challenge wheel
- Does the wheel time the challenges?
- No. The page has no timer. For a challenge with a time limit, have someone watch a clock or count the seconds out loud.
- Can I read the challenges before kids spin?
- Yes. Every entry is listed on this page under its group, so a teacher or a parent can read them all before the first spin.
- Can I remove a challenge or add my own?
- Yes. Delete any line that does not suit your group, or type your own challenge on a new line. The edited list is saved in this browser and is there on your next visit.
- Will the same challenge come up twice?
- It can, because a picked challenge stays on the wheel. Switch on “Remove the winner after each spin” and each one leaves the wheel once it has been picked.
- Where do the challenges come from?
- They were written for this site. They are not taken from a book, an app, a game or another website.
