About the Halloween costume wheel

One spin gives you a random Halloween costume from all 89 ideas. “Choose a list” narrows the wheel to one of 6 groups: classic spooky, animals, jobs, food and objects, fantasy and adventure, or things from your closet.

Every entry is a general idea, such as a scarecrow, a referee or a bunch of grapes. There are no named characters and no brands on the list, so no costume depends on a movie or a game you may not know.

Out of time? Choose “From your closet”: those 15 ideas are meant to be put together from things you already have at home. Delete any that will not work at your house, then spin.

Ways to use a Halloween costume generator

  • Class party: tick “Remove the winner after each spin” so no two students get the same costume.
  • Family theme: choose one group, such as “Animals”, and have everyone spin from it.
  • Best of three: spin three times and keep the idea you like most.
  • Dress-up box challenge: spin, then build that costume from whatever is in the box.

How to use the wheel

  1. Type or paste your options, one per line. The wheel redraws as you type.
  2. Press Spin, click the wheel, or press Ctrl+Enter while you are in the list.
  3. Read the pick. Remove it from the wheel if nobody should be picked twice, then spin again.

How the pick is made

Before the wheel moves, your browser draws one slice at random with crypto.getRandomValues, the same generator browsers use for security keys. Every slice has the same chance. The spin you watch only plays that result out.

Nothing about the animation changes the outcome: not how hard you click, not how long the wheel turns, not the size of your screen. The pointer always stops inside a slice, never on a line.

Your list stays in your browser. A link you copy carries the list inside the link itself, so nothing is uploaded.

Questions about the Halloween costume wheel

Are there movie or game characters on the wheel?
No. The list has general ideas only. To spin for a character you like, type the name on a new line.
Can I buy these costumes here?
No. The costumes are ideas, not products. This page sells nothing and links to no store.
Can I check the costumes before my class spins?
Yes. All 89 are listed on the page under their groups, so a teacher or a parent can read them first. Delete any line you would rather not have on the wheel.
What if I do not like the costume I get?
Press “Spin again” in the result window. Every spin is a fresh pick from whatever is on the wheel, so the same idea can return unless you press “Remove from wheel” first.
Where do the costume ideas come from?
They were written for this site, one idea at a time. None was copied from a book, an app, a game or another website.
