MLB is short for Major League Baseball. Player names are used here only as text for the wheel to pick from, and this site is not affiliated with or endorsed by Major League Baseball, any club or any player.
About the MLB player wheel
This wheel is a pool of All-Stars, not a roster of Major League Baseball. It holds the 177 players selected for the MLB All-Star Game in 2024, 2025 or 2026. Elected starters, reserves and pitchers all count, along with players who were selected but did not play and the players who took their places. A player chosen in more than one of those years shows up once.
The rosters were taken from the Wikipedia article on each year’s game, and the 5 groups follow the position those articles give: pitchers, catchers, infielders, outfielders and designated hitters. Each slice is a name with no team attached. Trades, injuries and retirements are not reflected, and the day the source was read is printed under the list.
The full wheel has more than 150 entries, so its slices have no labels and you read the name in the result window, at a 1 in 177 chance each (0.565%). Catchers holds 10 players, a 1 in 10 chance each (10%), and there the names show on the slices. To spin teams instead of players, open the MLB Team Wheel.
Baseball games to play with a random All-Star
- A backyard game: before each at-bat, the batter spins and plays as whoever comes up.
- A video game challenge: spin Pitchers and keep that player in your rotation for a whole season.
- A baseball card hunt: spin a name, then look for that player in your card collection.
- A trivia round: spin Infielders, and the first person to say the player’s team gets a point.
How to use the wheel
- Type or paste your options, one per line. The wheel redraws as you type.
- Press Spin, click the wheel, or press Ctrl+Enter while you are in the list.
- Read the pick. Remove it from the wheel if nobody should be picked twice, then spin again.
How the pick is made
Before the wheel moves, your browser draws one slice at random with crypto.getRandomValues, the same generator browsers use for security keys. Every slice has the same chance. The spin you watch only plays that result out.
Nothing about the animation changes the outcome: not how hard you click, not how long the wheel turns, not the size of your screen. The pointer always stops inside a slice, never on a line.
Your list stays in your browser. A link you copy carries the list inside the link itself, so nothing is uploaded.
Questions about the MLB player wheel
- Is every MLB player on this wheel?
- No. Only players selected for the All-Star Game in 2024, 2025 or 2026 are on it. Type any other name on a new line to give it a slice of its own.
- Can I make a wheel of only my team’s players?
- Yes, by typing them in, since names here come without teams. Clear the list, enter the roster one player per line, and use “Copy link to this wheel” if friends should spin the same list.
- What happens if the same name comes up twice?
- Each spin is a fresh draw, so a player can come up again. Turn on “Remove the winner after each spin” for a draft where nobody gets the same All-Star.
- Is this wheel made by Major League Baseball?
- No. Major League Baseball, its teams and its players are not connected to this site, which is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them.
