About the personality wheel

This wheel hands out personality traits for characters you invent. All 91 are loaded at first, and “Choose a list” swaps in a single group: warm, bold, quiet, quirky, clever or flaws.

Every trait is one or two ordinary words, such as curious, loyal or easily bored, and each sits in one group. All of them are printed on the page under those group names, which lets a teacher or a parent look the list over before a class uses it.

To build a character, spin three times: once on “Warm” or “Bold”, once on “Quirky” and once on “Flaws”. The Results tab keeps the three picks in order while you write.

Ways to use a random personality generator

  • Stuffed animal backstory: spin a personality for a toy and tell its story.
  • Drawing prompt: spin a trait and show it in a character’s face and pose.
  • Tabletop role-playing: give every new character one trait before the adventure starts.
  • Drama class: spin a trait and cross the room as someone who has it.

How to use the wheel

  1. Type or paste your options, one per line. The wheel redraws as you type.
  2. Press Spin, click the wheel, or press Ctrl+Enter while you are in the list.
  3. Read the pick. Remove it from the wheel if nobody should be picked twice, then spin again.

How the pick is made

Before the wheel moves, your browser draws one slice at random with crypto.getRandomValues, the same generator browsers use for security keys. Every slice has the same chance. The spin you watch only plays that result out.

Nothing about the animation changes the outcome: not how hard you click, not how long the wheel turns, not the size of your screen. The pointer always stops inside a slice, never on a line.

Your list stays in your browser. A link you copy carries the list inside the link itself, so nothing is uploaded.

Questions about the personality wheel

Is this a personality test?
No. The wheel picks a trait at random for a made-up character or a game. It does not test, measure or describe the person who spins it.
Can I spin more than one trait for a character?
Yes, spin as often as you like. Switch on “Remove the winner after each spin” first, and no trait can be handed to the same character twice.
Can I leave the flaws out?
Yes. Choose any group except “Flaws” under “Choose a list”. Each group is a wheel of its own, so only its traits can come up.
Where do the traits come from?
The list was written for this site, word by word. It does not come out of a book, an app, a game or another website.
