About the punishment wheel
Call it a punishment wheel or a wheel of doom: it holds 64 forfeits for whoever loses a round of a game. They come in 4 groups: silly voices and faces, moves, small favors and brain teasers. The wheel opens with all of them, and one button per group narrows it to that kind, such as “Brain teasers” when there is no room to move around.
Every forfeit is meant to be done on the spot, in under two minutes, with nothing but what is in an ordinary room. None of them asks for a phone, money, food or touching another player. The wheel is for games where everyone agreed to play, so settle before the first round that the loser spins.
Before the game, read the full list on this page with the players and delete any line someone would rather skip. The trimmed list stays in this browser for this page, so it is ready the next time the same group plays.
Games that end with a spin of the punishment wheel
- Board game night: whoever finishes last spins once before the pieces go back in the box.
- Card games: the loser of each hand spins while the next hand is dealt.
- Video game matches with friends: the losing player spins between matches.
- Class quiz games: the teacher spins and does the forfeit when the class reaches its target score.
- Team games at a party: the losing team spins once and does the forfeit together.
How to use the wheel
- Type or paste your options, one per line. The wheel redraws as you type.
- Press Spin, click the wheel, or press Ctrl+Enter while you are in the list.
- Read the pick. Remove it from the wheel if nobody should be picked twice, then spin again.
How the pick is made
Before the wheel moves, your browser draws one slice at random with crypto.getRandomValues, the same generator browsers use for security keys. Every slice has the same chance. The spin you watch only plays that result out.
Nothing about the animation changes the outcome: not how hard you click, not how long the wheel turns, not the size of your screen. The pointer always stops inside a slice, never on a line.
Your list stays in your browser. A link you copy carries the list inside the link itself, so nothing is uploaded.
Questions about the punishment wheel
- Where do these punishments come from?
- All 64 were written for this site. None of them was taken from a book, an app, a game or another website.
- Can a parent or a teacher check the forfeits first?
- Yes. Each forfeit is printed on this page under its group, so you can read all 64 before anyone spins.
- What if a player does not want to do a forfeit?
- Let that player pass and press “Spin again”. Agree on the pass rule before the first round, so nobody is pushed into a forfeit.
- Can the same forfeit come up twice in one game?
- It can, because the page opens with “Remove the winner after each spin” switched off. Check that box and each picked forfeit leaves the wheel as its result window closes.
