About the would you rather wheel
All 90 questions are on the wheel to begin with, and the buttons narrow it to one of 6 groups: superpowers, food, animals, school, silly or adventures. Each entry completes the question “Would you rather…”. A slice that reads “Fly or be invisible?” is asking whether you would rather fly or be invisible.
No choice is the wrong one, so ask each player to give a reason before the next spin. A teacher or a parent who wants to check the questions first can read all of them on this page, where they are listed group by group.
Tick “Remove the winner after each spin” for a class or a party, and no question comes up twice in one game. For a short round on one theme, choose a single group before you start: “Food” has 15 questions and “Silly” has 15.
Ways to play with the would you rather generator
- Morning meeting: spin once, then students walk to one side of the room for each choice.
- Dinner table: each person spins a question and everyone else answers it.
- Sleepovers: go around the circle, one spin and one answer per person.
- Writing warm-up: spin a question and write three sentences that defend your choice.
- Team debates: split the room by choice and give each side one minute to make its case.
How to use the wheel
- Type or paste your options, one per line. The wheel redraws as you type.
- Press Spin, click the wheel, or press Ctrl+Enter while you are in the list.
- Read the pick. Remove it from the wheel if nobody should be picked twice, then spin again.
How the pick is made
Before the wheel moves, your browser draws one slice at random with crypto.getRandomValues, the same generator browsers use for security keys. Every slice has the same chance. The spin you watch only plays that result out.
Nothing about the animation changes the outcome: not how hard you click, not how long the wheel turns, not the size of your screen. The pointer always stops inside a slice, never on a line.
Your list stays in your browser. A link you copy carries the list inside the link itself, so nothing is uploaded.
Questions about the would you rather wheel
- Why are the words “Would you rather” missing from the slices?
- They are left off so that the labels on the slices differ. Say “Would you rather” out loud, then read the pick.
- Where do the questions come from?
- They were written for this site. None was lifted from an app, a game, a book or another website.
- Can I add my own would you rather questions?
- Yes. Type each one on its own line in the list. Leave off the opening words, as the other entries do, so yours matches the rest.
- What if a question doesn’t suit my group?
- Take it off the wheel. Press “Remove from wheel” in the result window, or delete its line from the list before the game starts.
