About the Disney character wheel
Every name on this wheel belongs to a character from a Disney or Pixar animated film or cartoon. All 61 sit on one alphabetical list, heroes, sidekicks and villains together: Mickey Mouse, Elsa and Buzz Lightyear are three of them.
The characters were picked for this site from many different films and cartoons. Each name was looked up on English Wikipedia first, and each one has an article there. The whole list is printed on this page, so a parent or a teacher can read it before the first spin.
When each person in a group needs their own character, switch on “Remove the winner after each spin”. Once a character has been picked it is gone from the wheel, so no two people in the group share one. You can also delete the names nobody in the room knows: the shorter list is saved in this browser.
Things to do with a random Disney character
- Sketch night: everyone draws the same character, then you compare the drawings.
- Stuck on a costume? Spin until a name comes up that you would be glad to dress as.
- Charades: one player spins with the screen turned away and acts the character out.
- Guessing game: the spinner answers only yes or no until someone says the name.
- Before a pretend game, each kid spins to find out which movie character they will be.
How to use the wheel
- Type or paste your options, one per line. The wheel redraws as you type.
- Press Spin, click the wheel, or press Ctrl+Enter while you are in the list.
- Read the pick. Remove it from the wheel if nobody should be picked twice, then spin again.
How the pick is made
Before the wheel moves, your browser draws one slice at random with crypto.getRandomValues, the same generator browsers use for security keys. Every slice has the same chance. The spin you watch only plays that result out.
Nothing about the animation changes the outcome: not how hard you click, not how long the wheel turns, not the size of your screen. The pointer always stops inside a slice, never on a line.
Your list stays in your browser. A link you copy carries the list inside the link itself, so nothing is uploaded.
Questions about the Disney character wheel
- Is this wheel connected to Disney or Pixar?
- No. This site has nothing to do with The Walt Disney Company or with Pixar. The names belong to their owners and are listed only so the wheel can pick one.
- Why is a character I like not on the wheel?
- The wheel holds a selection, not every Disney character. Type the missing name on a new line in the list and it gets a slice of its own.
- Can I use it as a Disney princess wheel?
- Yes, with your own list. Press “Clear list” and type in the princesses you want, one per line. A wheel of villains only is made the same way.
- Will I see a picture of the character?
- No. The wheel shows the name and nothing else, so look the character up if you do not know what it looks like.
