About the charades wheel
All 98 things to act out are on the wheel when the page opens. They are sorted into 6 groups, and each group has its own button: “Actions” holds things like flying a kite or flipping a pancake, “Feelings” holds states such as sleepy, proud and dizzy, and the rest are animals, jobs, sports and everyday objects.
Charades needs one actor and a room of guessers: the actor shows a word or phrase without speaking, and everyone else guesses it. The pick appears on the screen in a result window, so spin with the screen turned away from the guessers and keep it that way while you act.
For a game where no idea repeats, tick “Remove the winner after each spin” before the first turn. Each pick then leaves the wheel when its result window closes. With young players, start on one group, such as “Animals”, and move to another when it runs low.
Ways to play with this charades generator
- Two teams: players take turns spinning and acting, and only the actor’s own team may guess.
- Classroom: one student spins at the teacher’s desk, then acts the pick for the whole class.
- Video call: the actor spins on a phone held out of the camera’s view and acts for everyone on the call.
- Drawing version: sketch the pick on a whiteboard instead of acting it, with the same no-talking rule.
How to use the wheel
- Type or paste your options, one per line. The wheel redraws as you type.
- Press Spin, click the wheel, or press Ctrl+Enter while you are in the list.
- Read the pick. Remove it from the wheel if nobody should be picked twice, then spin again.
How the pick is made
Before the wheel moves, your browser draws one slice at random with crypto.getRandomValues, the same generator browsers use for security keys. Every slice has the same chance. The spin you watch only plays that result out.
Nothing about the animation changes the outcome: not how hard you click, not how long the wheel turns, not the size of your screen. The pointer always stops inside a slice, never on a line.
Your list stays in your browser. A link you copy carries the list inside the link itself, so nothing is uploaded.
Questions about the charades wheel
- Are these charades ideas suitable for kids?
- They are plain things a child can act out, with no titles of movies, shows, books or songs and no characters. You will find every entry further down this page, sorted by group, so a parent or a teacher can read all 98 first.
- Where does the list come from?
- It was written for this site and is not taken from any book, app, game or other website.
- Does the page have a timer for each turn?
- No. The page has no timer, so use a clock or a kitchen timer and agree on a limit, such as 60 seconds a turn.
- Can I add movie titles or our own words?
- Yes. This list has none, but you can type your own titles and words into the list box, one per line, and each becomes a slice.
