About the random question wheel

The wheel opens with all 60 questions, and “Choose a list” narrows it to one of 5 groups. “Favorites”, “About you” and “This week” ask about real things, such as what goes into your favorite sandwich. “Imagine” and “Just for fun” are playful, and many of them ask you to make something up, like a name for a pet goldfish.

Every question is open, so a plain yes or no will not do. The wheel asks and stops there: it does not record, score or judge what anyone says. The whole set is printed on this page under the group names, where a teacher or a parent can read it before the first spin.

For a round with no repeats, tick “Remove the winner after each spin” before the first question: each one leaves the wheel as its result window closes. To ask about your own class, trip or family, type new questions into the list, one per line.

Ways to use the question wheel

  • Dinner table: one person spins, and everyone answers the same question before the next spin.
  • Start of a lesson: spin one question from “This week” and hear a few answers while the class settles in.
  • Opening a meeting: each person spins a question and answers it in one sentence.
  • Long car ride: a passenger spins on a phone and reads each question to the whole car.

How to use the wheel

  1. Type or paste your options, one per line. The wheel redraws as you type.
  2. Press Spin, click the wheel, or press Ctrl+Enter while you are in the list.
  3. Read the pick. Remove it from the wheel if nobody should be picked twice, then spin again.

How the pick is made

Before the wheel moves, your browser draws one slice at random with crypto.getRandomValues, the same generator browsers use for security keys. Every slice has the same chance. The spin you watch only plays that result out.

Nothing about the animation changes the outcome: not how hard you click, not how long the wheel turns, not the size of your screen. The pointer always stops inside a slice, never on a line.

Your list stays in your browser. A link you copy carries the list inside the link itself, so nothing is uploaded.

Questions about the random question wheel

Who wrote the questions on this wheel?
They were written for this site. No book, app, game or other website supplied any of them.
Can I use these questions with children?
Yes, and you can check each one first. None asks about money, grades, looks, crushes, family problems, health, religion or politics, and you can delete any line you would not ask.
How can I see which questions we have already asked?
Open the Results tab. It lists every question picked during this visit, in order, until you press “Clear results” or close the page.
Can I send my own list of questions to someone else?
Yes. Edit the list, then press “Copy link to this wheel”. The link carries your questions inside it, so whoever opens it sees the same wheel.
