About the random number 1 to 60 wheel
Slices for all 60 whole numbers from 1 to 60 fill this wheel, each the same size, and every number is still written on its slice. No ready lists come with the page, and the numbers are not repeated below it; the list box beside the wheel holds them all. Each spin gives a number a 1 in 60 chance, about 1.67%.
Sixty is the number of minutes in an hour and of seconds in a minute. A clock counts minutes from 0 to 59, though, not from 1 to 60. To make the spin read like a clock, set “Lowest number” to 0 and “Highest number” to 59, then press “Fill the wheel”.
For a quick timing game, spin a number of seconds and start a stopwatch on a phone or in the kitchen. The player closes their eyes and says “stop” when they think that much time has passed. Whoever lands closest to the spun number takes the round.
Jobs for a wheel of sixty
- Drawing from a deck of sixty flashcards numbered on the back, with the winner removed so no card comes up twice in one sitting.
- Calling on students across two classes of thirty, with 1 to 30 for one class and 31 to 60 for the other.
- Letting the spin set tonight’s reading time in minutes, from 1 up to a full hour.
- Giving the class a mystery number for place value practice: say how many tens and ones it has.
How to use the wheel
- Type or paste your options, one per line. The wheel redraws as you type.
- Press Spin, click the wheel, or press Ctrl+Enter while you are in the list.
- Read the pick. Remove it from the wheel if nobody should be picked twice, then spin again.
How the pick is made
Before the wheel moves, your browser draws one slice at random with crypto.getRandomValues, the same generator browsers use for security keys. Every slice has the same chance. The spin you watch only plays that result out.
Nothing about the animation changes the outcome: not how hard you click, not how long the wheel turns, not the size of your screen. The pointer always stops inside a slice, never on a line.
Your list stays in your browser. A link you copy carries the list inside the link itself, so nothing is uploaded.
Questions about the random number 1 to 60 wheel
- Can I get a time like 3:45 from this wheel?
- Only part of it. Spin here for the minute and pick the hour some other way, or open the Random Time Wheel, which picks a whole time of day.
- What if I only have 48 flashcards?
- Set “Highest number” to 48 and press “Fill the wheel”, or delete the extra lines. The wheel then has 48 slices, and the line under it shows each one’s new chance.
- Can I pick two different numbers from 1 to 60?
- Yes, with two spins. Switch on “Remove the winner after each spin” first, so the number from the first spin is off the wheel for the second.
- Will the wheel remember which cards came up after I close the page?
- No. The Results tab keeps the picks only for the current visit and is empty after you close the page, so write down any numbers you need to keep.
