About the candy wheel
The candy wheel holds 53 kinds of candy. Spin them all together, or press a button under “Choose a list” for one group: “Chocolate” (11), “Gummies and chews” (12), “Hard candy” (10), “Sour candy” (9) or “Classics and fairground treats” (11).
Every entry is a kind of candy, not a brand: “Gummy bears” means any gummy bears, and “Chocolate bar” means whichever bar is in the bag. That way the wheel works with whatever sweets are at hand. All 53 kinds are printed lower on this page, group by group, so a teacher or a parent can read them before use.
To share out a mixed bag, press “Clear list” and type one line for each kind of candy in it. Then take turns: each spinner takes one piece of whatever the wheel names. Check for allergies before sharing.
Where a random candy pick helps
- Halloween night: spin to decide which candy from the bucket gets eaten first.
- Class or party prize: spin once, and that kind of candy is today’s prize.
- Goodie bags: switch on “Remove the winner after each spin” and spin four times for four kinds to buy.
- Sour round: press “Sour candy” and let each player spin for the one they try.
How to use the wheel
- Type or paste your options, one per line. The wheel redraws as you type.
- Press Spin, click the wheel, or press Ctrl+Enter while you are in the list.
- Read the pick. Remove it from the wheel if nobody should be picked twice, then spin again.
How the pick is made
Before the wheel moves, your browser draws one slice at random with crypto.getRandomValues, the same generator browsers use for security keys. Every slice has the same chance. The spin you watch only plays that result out.
Nothing about the animation changes the outcome: not how hard you click, not how long the wheel turns, not the size of your screen. The pointer always stops inside a slice, never on a line.
Your list stays in your browser. A link you copy carries the list inside the link itself, so nothing is uploaded.
Questions about the candy wheel
- Can I spin for chocolate only?
- Yes. Press “Chocolate” under “Choose a list” and the wheel holds only its 11 entries. “All 53 candies” puts the rest back.
- What are the chances of landing on sour candy?
- On the full wheel, 9 of the 53 slices are sour candy, and every slice has the same chance. Press “Sour candy” and every spin is sour.
- How do I hand out prizes with no repeats?
- Switch on “Remove the winner after each spin”. Each kind of candy leaves the wheel after it is picked, so no prize comes up twice.
- Where does the candy list come from?
- From this site and nowhere else. The kinds of candy were written for it, not taken from a book, an app, a game or another website.
