About the random number 1 to 25 wheel
This wheel is made of 25 equal slices, numbered 1 to 25, and nothing else. It has no ready lists to switch to, and the numbers are not set out a second time below; they all sit in the list box next to the wheel. Whatever came up before, every spin gives each number a 1 in 25 chance, which is 4%.
Twenty-five is five times five, so the numbers fill a five-by-five grid with none left over. Put a drawing prompt, a spelling word or a small task in each square, and the spin points to one square at a time.
For vocabulary practice with 25 words, number the words and switch on “Remove the winner after each spin”. Each spin chooses the word the next student acts out, draws or defines. A word that is done drops off the wheel, so the class covers all 25 before any of them comes back.
Uses for twenty-five numbers
- Calling on students in a class of twenty-five by the number beside each name on the roster.
- Picking which of twenty-five review questions opens the next round of a team quiz.
- Choosing a square on a five-by-five sticker chart to color in after each finished task.
- Holding a balance pose for as many seconds as the wheel shows, from 1 to 25.
How to use the wheel
- Type or paste your options, one per line. The wheel redraws as you type.
- Press Spin, click the wheel, or press Ctrl+Enter while you are in the list.
- Read the pick. Remove it from the wheel if nobody should be picked twice, then spin again.
How the pick is made
Before the wheel moves, your browser draws one slice at random with crypto.getRandomValues, the same generator browsers use for security keys. Every slice has the same chance. The spin you watch only plays that result out.
Nothing about the animation changes the outcome: not how hard you click, not how long the wheel turns, not the size of your screen. The pointer always stops inside a slice, never on a line.
Your list stays in your browser. A link you copy carries the list inside the link itself, so nothing is uploaded.
Questions about the random number 1 to 25 wheel
- How should I number a five-by-five grid?
- Go across each row from left to right. The top row is 1 to 5, the second row is 6 to 10, and the bottom row ends with 21 to 25.
- Can I put the vocabulary words on the wheel itself?
- Yes. Clear the list and type the words, one per line, and the wheel redraws with a slice for each word. Your edited list stays saved in this browser for the next lesson.
- What if my class has more than twenty-five students?
- Raise “Highest number” to your class size and press “Fill the wheel”. Every number keeps an equal chance, and the line under the wheel shows the new figure.
- I pressed “Clear list” by mistake. Can I get the numbers back?
- Yes. Right after “Clear list”, an Undo link brings the previous list back. Pressing “Fill the wheel” also loads 1 to 25 again.
